Family & Consumer Sciences : Meet the Agent
I want to introduce myself officially to those of you I haven’t met. My name is Teran Ransom and I am your new Family and Consumer Science Extension Agent. I’m a native of Bourbon County and a graduate of Bourbon County High School. In 2007 I received my bachelor’s degree in Apparel, Design and Merchandising from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky.
In the summer of 2007 I was the intern at the Bourbon County Extension Service for 4-H and Family and Consumer Science. During my internship I completed a project regarding the decline in the textile arts of quilting, knitting, crocheting, and tatting; along with participating in many other activities such as the Bourbon County Homemakers’ Yard Sale to benefit Ovarian Cancer research and 4-H camp.
I’m SUPER excited to be given the opportunity to work in Hardin County alongside great colleagues and a great group of homemakers. I’m looking forward to visiting all homemaker clubs in the year to come and getting some great programming started. If you have any ideas or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call me or stop by and visit me at the office. Again, I look forward to working with you all soon!!!
